Tamban
Beach is a quiet beach that is still unfamiliar for the visitors who visit
Malang City. But, the condition makes the beach keep virgin with natural
scenery. The beach has white sand that stretches along 1,500 meter and looks so
beautiful. As you visit Tamban, you can see the panorama of sea easily.
Besides
that, you will be able to see the presence of Sempu Island from the distance at
the South Sea. Anytime you visit Tamban, you can do many things, both water
activity or exploring the village. This activity will give you extra
information of the life of local resident because they still keep the tradition
well.

Beach lies at Tamban Village, Sumbermanjing Wetan sub-district, Malang Regency,
East Java, Indonesia. Precisely, it located around 65 km south of Malang City,
or it takes around 2 hours by motorcycle and the location is next to
Sendangbiru Beach. There are two routes to visit the beach, i.e. from Malang
City – Pakisaji – Kepanjen – Godang Legi – Turen – Sumbermanjing Wetan –
Tambakrejo – Tamban. Secondly, Malang city, Bululawang – Turen – Sumbermanjing Wetan
– Tambakrejo – Tamban.
Accommodations
Tamban
Beach has complete facilities. You can stay at the guest houses or stay with
the residents. Whether you visit with your friends or family, you can choose
accommodations of hostel or home-stay. The atmosphere of Tamban Village is so
quiet that will give you chance to relax and rest well.
The
room of hostel can be occupied by 6 – 10 persons. Overall, the accommodation of
Tamban Village can be rent for about 150 persons. Each accommodation has their
own uniqueness and completed by various facilities, such as comfortable beds,
wooden windows, proper toilet and incredible panorama.
The
terrace of the house is completed by simple chairs and tables. It is very
perfect to be chosen as your destination to escape from the rush. Your vacation
will be more fascinating because in the morning, you can sip a glass of coffee
or tea while reading your favorite books. The natural instrument of singing
bird can be listened near your hostel.
Activities
Tamban
Beach is popular for the white sand and stretches of pebbles along the
coastline. As you stand at the beach, you can see Sempu Island that is
sparkling under the sunshine. The location is only two km at the east of the
beach. The island is still virgin with dense tropical forest and high waves of
water.
The
condition of Tamban Beach is suitable for surfing because the waves are strong
and powerful. Even, you can see the boat of fishermen docking at the coastline.
The area of the beach is a location for fish market. Thus, it is not surprising
if you see the buyers and sellers gather in the morning to get fresh fish. If you
want to do water activities, such as surfing, diving, snorkeling, swimming,
fishing, jet-ski, snorkeling and other activities, the fishermen will ready to
take you to the best spots.
The
area of Tamban Beach has been developed as Tamban Tourism Village that combines
the area of mountains and beaches. They try to unite the tradition and natural
source to be tourist destination. They start to build the education for the
local residents such as training of gamelan, traditional dancing, organic
farming, and learning English.
To
get fresh air, you can stroll to explore the beach and the village. That is why
trekking become one of activity you may not miss as you visit Tamban Beach. The
panorama of the village is still green with paddy field, traditional houses,
rivers and trees along the street. Besides that, you can visit museum at the
village.
In
a certain occasion, the residents of Tamban Village held a performance of
traditional entertainment. They will play traditional dancing such as kuda
lumping, puppet, and traditional games. Thus, don’t forget to explore Tamban
Village anytime you visit Tamban Beach.
