Nihiwatu Beach is located at Waikabubak City, West Sumba Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. The beach is managed by international resort, Nihiwatu Resort. Besides that, the beach is around 400 km eastern of Bali. From Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali, you can take a flight to Tambolaka Airport by Merpati, Wings Air, Transnusa, or Aviastar.

From Tambolaka Airport, you can hire a car to continue your journey to Nihiwutu Beach, which is takes around 2 – 3 hours. You need to pay around IDR300,000 – IDR400,000, or US$31 – US$41. The price is makes sense because you will continue your trip to one of remote region in East Nusa Tenggara. Along the road, you can enjoy the panorama of traditional life in Sumba Island.

Accommodations

Nihiwatu Resort is the only one operator around the beach. They are completed by villa and three rooms of bungalow, which is situated at the hill. These bungalows are also has private pool facing to the ocean. The restaurant itself is constructed by open model. The architecture and ornament in the resort are combination between modern and traditional style.

The resort offers beautiful beach and culture of Sumba Island. With clean and complete facilities, tourist will love to spend their holiday in Nihiwatu Beach. If you plan to stay overnight in the resort, the rate is quite expensive. You need to pay around 420 – 2,500 Euro per night.

          As previously mentioned, Siladen Island is situated next to Bunaken Island, North Sulawesi, Indonesia. Precisely, the island lies in the northern side of Bunaken Island. The total area of this island is about 31.25 hectares. To reach the island, you have two alternatives route. Firstly, you can use public transportation of boats. The boats only serve passenger once a day. The trip f the boats are from Manado, departing at around 1 p.m to 3 p.m (depending on the tides). When you decide to visit Siladen, you must prepare yourself to stay in this island. The boats travel back to Manado at around 7 a.m.  You must pay for Rp25,000 – 50,000 ($2.50 – Rp5.00) per person per trip. 

Activities

          The most popular activity to do in Siladen Island is diving and snorkeling.  The sea condition allows visitors to dive and snorkel freely. Visitors can enjoy the most beautiful scenery in its underwater. Especially, the swift currents on Siladen are constant, making it suitable for divers. The popularity of the island led the island to be the port for1996 Around the World Sailing Competition held in England. It has been the home of the yearly Darwin - Kupang yacht Race as well.           Lasiana Beach is situated in Central Kupan District, Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara. The total area of this beach is around 3.4 hectares. The beach is so calm as it is shaded by around 65 palm trees and many other trees. It has white sand and clear blue sea water. The waves are calm but powerful. There are hills around the beach. The island is only about 14 km outside Kupang. It is a perfect place for Kupang people to relax after tired of doing many activities all day long. The beach is easily accessible as it is not far from Kupang. You can rent a motorcycle in Kupang or go by bus or taxi.
