Serangan Island is a small island in Bali.
The island is identical to the rural atmosphere around the coastline of Tanjung
Benoa area. The most attraction here is turtle conservation. Thus, you will see
thousands of eggs turtles. With this peculiar condition, most local residents
call the island as Turtle Island. Besides becoming a home for turtles, the
highest commodity in the island is seaweed. The seaweed has beneficial as
beauty material and food. Even, the dishes that made from seaweed become
peculiar culinary in Bali.

Location
Serangan Island lies in
Serangan Village, South Denpasar, Denpasar City, Bali, Indonesia. Precisely, it
lies at the south of Sanur Beach. To reach the beach, you can take a boat from
Sanur, Tanjung Benoa or Suwung. If you start your journey from Tanjung Benoa,
you can cross the bridge to reach Serangan Island. However, the easiest way to

Activities
There are many attractive
spots in Serangan Island, such as Sakenan Temple, Watersport, and natural
beaches. The first tourist destinations you can visit is Sakenan Temple. This
is a small temple that is considered as a sacred temple in Bali. According to
many sources, the temple built by Mpu Kuturan in 12th century. Then,
Danghyang Nirarthao built the rest part
of temple in 15th century. They were saints and built the temple
with peculiar architecture just like Luhur Uluwatu Temple in the south of Bali.
The next activities you can do
in Serangan Island is water sports. For you who love adventure, especially
water activities, you will have more chance to challenge your adrenaline. On
this island, you can do banana boat, para-sailing, jet ski, swimming, and
snorkeling. It will be challenging experiences because you can have fun with
your friends. Besides that, you can go to see seaweed cultivation.
By boat, the seaweeds that
are floating can be signed by some bottles. Many women working to check the
seaweed sometimes. They do it because the seaweed will be used as ingredients
for vegetables and other dishes. Some of the harvest will be used for
cosmetics. Not too far from the cultivation seaweed, there is Turtle
Conservation. This is a place for turtle breeding. There are many ponds that
are used for baby turtles and age turtles. After 25 years, they will be
released from the pond and will be sent to the ocean.

adventure in Serangan Island, you can visit mangrove forest. Local residents
are trying hard to keep the ecosystem of the forest because it has benefit to
keep natural preserving. Sometimes, the waves of water in Serangan Island are
high. In the rainy season, the waves become higher, i.e. from November to
April. Hence, you have to estimate the season you will come if you don’t want
to regret. Because if you come in the rainy season, you can do water activities
maximally.
And the last, you can enjoy
many culinary dishes. Most of the menus here are seafood, such as fried fish
and crab soup. You can taste it by spicy dishes. This is the most popular way
to taste local dishes.
