Kepa
Island is one of tourist destinations in East Nusa Tenggara. For those who love

Location
Kepa
Island lies at Alor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. It takes around 10
minutes by motor boat from Kecil Island Pier at Alor Island. Alor Island itself
can be reached by flight for about 45 minutes from El Tari Airport Kupang, the
capital of East Nusa Tenggara. There are two flights which are served by Fokker
airplane from Kupang to Kalabahi, the capital of Alor Island. Kalabahi becomes
a transit place for tourists before they continue the trip to the cluster of
small islands surround Alor, including Kepa Island.
From
Kalabahi Airport in Alor, you still need to continue the journey for about 1.5
hours by a car and continued by a boat. The island has not adequate
infrastructure. There is no asphalt road, public transportation or food stalls.
Even, the inhabitants who live in Kepa Island are only 24 inhabitants.

Island is just like a forgotten island because it is far from civilization. But,
this condition becomes the main attraction because it still has original
beauty. The only one lodge you can stay is La P’tite Kepa. The lodge designed
just like traditional village from Alor because it built on the cliffs close to
the beach and each huts are built from bamboo.
The
rate to stay here is IDR500.000 or US$52 per night. If you want to enjoy your
vacation in Kepa Island, you are suggested to book before you come. To expand
the popularity of Kepa Island, local government is trying to open direct flight
to connect Alor Island from Flores and Bali, provides hotels and restaurants.

The corals in this area are nominated as one of the most beautiful corals in
the world. It is not surprise because this area is surrounded by Timor Sea,
Sawu Sea, and Flores Sea which is becomes the crossing spot for whales. Thus,
if you are lucky, you will see the whales appear at the surface. If you want to
see marine life, you can dive or snorkel in Kepa Island. You can swim together
with colorful fishes that sometime hiding behind the corals and the reefs.
Actually,
there are around 42 diving spots which are close to each other. Thus, it will
ease you to explore marine life. Crystal water also creates clear visibility of
