Tanjung Tinggi Beach, or
recognized as Bilik Beach by local residents is a newest tourist destination in
Bangka Belitung. The echo of its beach became more popular since a movie took a
place for their setting in 2008. Laskar Pelangi and Sang Pemimpi were box
office movies in Indonesia. Tanjung Tinggi Beach has white sand and decorated
by hundred giant granite rocks with turquoise water and calm wave. Actually,
its beach is a small bay 100 meter long and flanked by 2 peninsulas. The granite rocks at Tanjung Tinggi area have
few hundred cubic. The stack of the rock forms hills along the beach with
alleys or small caves that makes the beach look so exotic. The most attractive
spot in this place is the big rocks because the height can be 2 meters. And it
is not easy to find any beach that has the same condition like that.

Location
Tanjung
Tinggi Beach is situated at Keciput Village, Sijuk sub-district, Bangka
Belitung Province or about 30 km from Tanjung Pandan city and 2 km from Tanjung
Kelayang Beach. You can take a car or travel agent from Tanjung Pandan to
Tanjung Tinggi Beach for an hour. The road is smooth because it has been constructed
by local government. Along the road to Tanjung Tinggi Beach, you will through
many beaches that will spoil your eyes. Started from Tanjung Binga Beach, you
will see that most of residents are fishermen. They process salty fishes and
make as local product.
After
that, you will through Tanjung Kelayang which was become a location of Sail
Indonesia. Then, you will arrive at Tanjung Tinggi Beach. Its beach is one of
the best places in West Belitung because the beach is clean with exotic
panorama. Overall, the access to the beach is good. That is why the beach
becomes a perfect place to relax and spend your holiday with your family or
friends. This place is also suit for honey moon to newlywed.
Activities
When
you arrive at Tanjung Tinggi Beach, you can admire the big rocks and big trees
around the granite rocks. The root of trees spread under the surface of the
rocks and come into the sand. The shape of its beach is just like a crock with
white sand in the middle and surrounded by the rocks that juts into the sea.
The white sand in the beach is so smooth for your legs. Sometimes, you can see crabs
running fast on the sand and dig it.
Visitors
who come to the beach can do many activities, such as playing white sand or
just swimming in the clean and calm water. You also can pass alleys among
hundreds granite rocks, or climb the rock to enjoy scenery of Tanjung Tinggi. The
granite rocks are not slippery, so it will be easy to climb it. From above, you
will enjoy the view of sea with clear and clean water. The nuance will be more
romantic when you come on sunrise or sunset. With clear water, you can snorkel
there or just sit on the soft sand. The coral reefs there are so beautiful and
still original.
When
you come to Tanjung Tinggi Beach, you don’t need to worry about food because
there are food stalls that provide you seafood or local menu. For seafood, most
of food stalls provides you fresh fishes. You also can taste lobster, crab,
squid, and clam. Those food stalls are managed by residents in Tanjung Tinggi
Village. The food stalls are exists along the beach with simple tables and
chairs. But it is comfortable to sit there while enjoy the breeze of air and
drink young coconut.
In
fact, the movie of Laskar Pelangi has been improves the visitors to come to
Tanjung Tinggi Beach. With great potential condition, local government should
improve and develop new infrastructure and features to make tourist more
comfortable to enjoy the beach, such as banana-boat because it will increase
economic condition. They can bring the name of Tanjung Tinggi Beach as an icon
of Tanjung Pandan City.
